wing surface substrate?

I have absolutely no idea what I am doing! Start with that. I have hot wire cut a few different products thinking to use it as the core for my wing. Dow Corning pink cuts beautifully smooth. I understand it is made from PE resin. EPS solutions at the intersection of highway 2 and 53 also use PE but in bead form. I cut the exact same profile with that. The cut is precise as well, the difference is the surface being rough.

Would there be an advantage one over the other when the time comes to cover the wing? Better adhesion? Things I have not thought about? ... many I'm sure...

I flew line control .049 as a child and now I am calling myself retired and would like to make something to play with. Hands off!

Thank you from David
